What Girls Academy requires of every club, 2026–27

Coaching licenses

  • Girls Academy teams: the director overseeing them needs at least a B license or equivalent, and a documented plan to reach the A-Youth license within 18 months or by the start of the 2027 season, whichever is sooner.
  • Girls Academy teams: head and assistant coaches need at least a C license or equivalent.
  • GA Aspire teams: directors need at least a C license or equivalent, and a documented plan to reach the B license on the same timetable.
  • GA Aspire teams: coaches need at least a D license or equivalent.

Safety staff and training

  • Every match: an athletic trainer is provided from an hour before the first match to the end of the last; a club that provides none is fined and reprimanded.
  • Coaches and administrators: each completes U.S. Soccer's Safe Soccer training, phases 1, 2 and 3.
